Gardasil on the schedule for boys (Proposal to Amend Listings In The National Immunisation Schedule)! This has mortified us no end, given that we are already seeing teenage boys suffering and being added to our international HPV vaccine victim support groups!
Bearing in mind the concerns we have surrounding Gardasil and its current use, and the lengthy correspondence we have had with the NZ Minister of Health and other MP's and officials, we are astounded that those in a position of power could deem it feasible to suddenly go about vaccinating a whole new group, subjecting them too to the ills this vaccine is causing, when they haven't even sorted out what's going on with the current crop!
What about the Nordic Cochrane report? Are they just going to ignore that completely? The answer is: most likely!
As a concerned mother states, there is a complete disregard for the Precautionary Principle and to First Do No Harm! They show little understanding of Caveat Emptor or Information Asymmetry.
Studies for male fertility and the male reproductive effects post-Gardasil, were limited at best. Internationally, there are already reports of boys and young men reporting erectile dysfunction and other new medical conditions post-Gardasil.
The Ministry of Health appears to have no appreciation or grasp of the Gardasil vaccine trials or their outcomes and what they indicated ... or, in most cases, did not indicate. e.g. 'surrogate' endpoints, prior exposure and the implications for sexually naive girls, CBER (The FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research - Click HERE to read more) findings on co-factors and statements that cervical cancer cannot be induced by HPV alone and that CINs can and do spontaneously regress.
We are sick (pun fully intended) of hearing the same-old, same-old responses - in fact, most of the responses received by us and others canvassing various authorities are nearly identical and can be assumed to be cut-and-paste versions of one another! When will those who make these decisions on behalf of all future New Zealanders start answering the questions we put to them in a forthright and competent manner instead of regurgitating the same worn and very tired phrases? When will they start thinking for themselves?
There seems to be a concerted effort on the part of those who are involved in the promotion of the Gardasil vaccine to not engage in any meaningful interactions with concerned members of the public, who raise valid and relevant questions pertaining to safety and efficacy of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil.
As for the media - argh! It's clear they are in Pharma's back pocket and are being told what to write and when! Like this recent posting by Newshub!
Let's look at the above posting......
Dr John Chaplin's interview states that there has been an increase in the rate of throat cancer, going on to state that the rates of this particular cancer have doubled in the past 20 years. Funny then that the 2012 figures don't even mention throat cancer as being a priority - prostate, colorectal, melanoma, lung and non-Hogkin lymphoma are top of the list - the latter showing only 432 reported cases. By our calculations, we're looking to vaccinate an entire population of teenage boys for the sake of less than, say, 400 (at the very most) cases!
In fact, we estimate the occurrence to be much lower, given the figures quoted at the bottom of the Newshub page (PDF'd here in case it gets taken down in future) HPV is estimated to be responsible for: 35% of all oral cancers, 50% of all penile cancers, 85% of all anal cancers (figures apparently sourced from University of Auckland). Again, we note the word ESTIMATED ... so there is NO clear confirmation of these assumptions?
By the way, in the age group they're targeting, (0-24 years) the most common cancer reported in 2012 was leukaemia. In the 24-44 group, the most common cancer was testicular. (Spreadsheet)
As a by-note: we were thrilled to hear that only 61% of eligible girls in NZ have been immunised with Gardasil!
And we simply had to note Lucy's (reporter) comment to close the propaganda segment off: "It is HOPED that by rolling out the vaccine to boys next year it will prevent such cancers in the future". HOPED???? Is that truly the best they can come up with??
